Why the material is the whole argument
Moda baths are cast from a blend of limestone and high performance resins, and each one is hand finished. Against an acrylic bath, cast stone has thicker walls and a more robust body overall, which is what makes it so well insulated: it retains heat much better, and it is far more durable. It is also much less susceptible to chipping or cracking than ceramic. If you have only ever had acrylic, that is the difference.
What it weighs, and the conversation to have early
Empty weights here run from 70kg to 259kg. The 1300mm Vittotoria is 70kg. The 1780mm Teresa is 178kg, and the Teresa Thick, at 50mm, is 200kg. The largest, the 1600mm square Violette, is 259kg. Every product page lists the Net Weight. Give that figure to your builder before you order, particularly for an upper or suspended floor. If you would rather work through it with us, call.
Made to the size the room needs
For Avra at Bondi Beach we custom made a Moda Theresa at 1600mm and left a 150mm void beneath it so the plumbing could run through. QT Bondi Beach took custom designed rectangular stone shower baths. Hamilton Island Beach Club took Moda stone baths with custom made basins, all matching, and Kaia at Bellevue Hill used Moda stone baths and basins throughout. If you are working to a schedule rather than picking a single bath, send it with quantities and our team will price it within 48 hours.
Freestanding, back-to-wall or drop-in
Most of this range is freestanding. The Gloria is a back-to-wall bath in left and right hand versions, also available at 1600mm. The Marilyn is a fully solid drop-in bath for custom cabinetry or a tiled platform. The Isabella sits on a matt black leg frame. Three models, the Teresa, Carmel and Lucia, are also made 50mm thick. Each bath comes with a flexi hose; the plug is extra.
Delivery, and what it does not include
Deliveries run Monday to Friday between 10am and 3pm. Stone baths are delivered within the lot as far as a pallet jack can travel, to the front of the house where possible. The driver will not go inside the house, past stairs, or over loose surfaces, steep driveways or uneven ground, and needs a hand to unload. From there you organise your own labourers. If the bath is not in stock, allow 8 to 16 weeks, as listed on each product page. Tell us the access when you enquire.
Living with it
Cast stone does not scratch easily, and the surface is durable, non-porous and easy to maintain. A quick wipe with a clean cloth and clean water is the routine. Every bath on this page carries a 10 year warranty.
How long does a stone bath stay warm?
Much longer than acrylic. The thicker walls are what hold the heat, which is why three models are also made 50mm thick.
Can it go upstairs?
That depends on your floor rather than the bath. Take the Net Weight from the product page and have your builder or an engineer confirm it.
Can I have it in another colour?
Yes. Any Moda cast stone piece can be made in any colour, in a matt or gloss finish.
Can I return a bath?
No. ACS does not accept returns of baths, because of their weight and the freight involved, so it is worth settling size, weight and access with us before you order.
