Standing on its own
A freestanding basin needs no vanity and no wall to hang from. These models are 330mm to 700mm wide and 330mm to 480mm deep, so choose by the floor space you can spare and where the plumbing arrives. One model stands on satin brass legs. Freestanding basins are sometimes called pedestal basins. If you would rather keep the floor clear, see our wall hung basins.
Check the floor
A solid stone basin is heavy. Net weights here run from 21kg to 60kg, listed on each product page, so the floor under it needs to carry the load, and a floor that has to be levelled should be done before the basin arrives. Tell your builder the weight early.
Tap holes, and what is in the box
Some models list a tap hole as an extra fee, and some are supplied with the basin only. Read the Included line on each product page before you order, because a product image can show a tap hole, overflow or waste that is not part of the basin. Decide where the tap goes when you choose the basin, then see our basin mixers.
The material
Moda cast stone is a blend of limestone and high performance resins, pure white, and each piece is individually hand finished by craftsmen. The result is a solid material with a smooth, silky matt finish that is every bit as beautiful as sculpted marble. Every basin on this page carries a 10 year warranty.
Putting a room together
